The Triumph of David
Description
The scene depicts the young David (right side), accompanied by women making music (middle and left side), one woman holding a music sheet, another woman (view from the back side) playing a lute (partially visible), others singing. David carries the head of Goliath, stuck onto an enormous sword. The story of David and Goliath is told in the First Book of Samuel (Sam 1:17).
