Description

Group portrait with seven people including three musicians (one female singer, one female harpist, and one male violinist) and two chess players. The aristocratic setting is indicated by the draperies, braids and trimmings as well as the bird in its cage. According to Svenska porträtgalleriet, one of the persons in the picture has been identified as Johan Fredric von Nolcken (1737-1809), Swedish envoy in St. Petersburg 1773-1788 and later in Vienna.
