A male figure stands in the center holding a transverse flute. In the background on the right are an open door showing a window in the next room, with a chair set in front of the door. To the male figure's left are a small table and a bookcase on the wall. On the table appear an open book, apparently of music notation, and other papers, as well as some other objects. A hunting horn hangs on the wall in the left background.
