Description

A long, tall viaduct (with horses, carriages, and people crossing it) dominates the upper portion of this drawing; below it, on one side of a narrow stream, a carriage, horses, and attendants can be seen; on the opposite side of the stream, several groups of people are pictured, including couples, children, a group of musicians, and multiple ladies and gentlemen or officers in a tent or outside waiting to join the circle dance near the center of the scene. Instruments visible include drum, triangle, frame drum (or tambourine), cymbals, and wind instruments (horn and shawms?). Some of the musicians are wearing military uniform-style hats, some are wearing turbans; the ladies are shown in fashionable headgear.
