Description

Based on a drawing by David Allan now owned by the Royal Collection Trust (913358), but previously owned by Paul Sandby, this print presents a view of groups of people gathered along a street in Rome. The scene is similar to that in RIdIM 6318, which would suggest that this item also represents happenings at Carnival time. While this scene is less lively than that one, it does include music-making and dancing, along with a different view of social and perhaps religious relations.
