Description

In this painting commemorating the engagement of Hannah Anne Gore to George Nassau Clavering-Cowper, these two individuals are seen standing while two others are making music, another is writing, and one holds a book. Instruments visible are cello and square piano or clavichord (with legible music open on the music rack); a large painting in the background includes a figure playing a lyre.
