Description

Painting presents five figures, presumably representing two parents, two daughters and one son; one of the young women is playing a keyboard instrument (perhaps a harpsichord); the lavish background scene is outdoors, with stone staircases, columns, an urn with sculptured relief, a fountain, an arcade, and tall trees and clouds. A man playing an aulos is part of the sculptured relief on the urn at the lower left corner of the painting.
