Portrait of two daughters of British lawyer and politician Baron Edward Thurlow (1731-1806); both are standing beside a fortepiano, one with her hands on the keyboard, the other leaning her head and left arm on the left side of the music rack and resting her left foot on the instrument's single pedal; the instrument also has a hand stop or stops; an open book with musical notation is on the music rack.
