Description

This porcelain figure of a conductor is one in a set of five figures attributed to John Astbury owned by the Museum of Fine Arts Boston. This set includes two others related to music: a violinist (MFA#1979.792) and a bagpiper (MFA#1979.790); the non-musicians in the set are a man reading (MFA#1979.789) and a cobbler (MFA#1979.791).
