Description

This "trompe l'oeil" painting's picture-within-the-picture features a red piano (front case partially absent--thereby showing its strings and hammers); a piece of sheet music (title illegible) is on its music rack, and a double bass is beside it. This picture itself is presented in an art deco style mirrored frame, possibly suggesting that the images within it are a reflection of the musical ensemble facing it. On a small table in front of the picture one sees a cat, a champagne glass, a toy party horn, and a fan with the words "Warwick Hall" visible.

Notes

On the fan are the words "Warwick Hall" (perhaps referring to New York's Warwick Hotel and its prominence in social and entertainment history of Manhattan since 1926).
