This work is a colloborative project designed by Edward Larson and quilted by Fran Soika.
Description from museum website:
Multi-color quilt. Solid dark green outer border. Patchwork middle border. Bright green floral print inner border. Dark green, maroon, brown, and light blue binding. Wavy edges. Red/orange backing. Bill Clinton is largest central figure, depicted with a saxophone. Surrounded by Ross Perot, Hillary Clinton, George Bush, Al Gore with a spotted owl, Tipper Gore, Socks the cat, and the White House. Figures are labeled with full or partial name. "Clinton" at top, "wins" at bottom of quilt. "The Virgin of Change" at top of quilt. Various phrases on the quilt include "If the cars broke lets get under the hood and fix it", "2 McDonald's", "I didn't inhale", and "It's the economy stupid". "1993" Embroidered on the backing in black.
