Description

This drawing depicts four aristocratically-dressed musicians (three playing, one serving as page-turner and perhaps leader). Instruments shown are violin, two lutes, transverse flute, two-manual harpsichord, cello, and perhaps a shawm (partially obscured by a pillow on which a little dog rests beside the harpsichord). Books can be seen, but no legible music notation.
