Description from museum website:
In the center of this painting, Krishna, the eighth avatar of the Hindu god Vishnu who is worshipped as a deity in his own right, stands on the bank of a river filled with water lilies. Fluting [possibly playing a bansuri (basuri)], he faces leftward toward the sun, surrounded by trees and flowers. The painting may represent verses in the Bhagavat Purana, when Krishna summons the gopis (milkmaids). Rajput style, Jaipur school.
