Scene includes six persons gathered around a table making music (one woman appears to be singing), an interior curtain on the right side of the picture separating them from a landscape scene in the background. Books (of music?) are visible, one held, others on the floor. Four musical instruments are being played: violin (or viola), bassoon, double bass, double-headed baroque lute. On the floor are two reed instruments (probably oboes) and a smaller single-head lute.
