Ornate porcelain box with two musical scenes on top: the first depicts a man possibly instructing a smaller (possibly female) figure who plays a long side-blown flute (probably dizi (di)) in an outdoor pavilion-like setting; the second includes three figures, one playing a zither-like instrument (probably zheng) in an area outside a building; the sides of the box and cover feature geometric shapes and images of birds, flowers, and trees.
