Description

A woman gazes thoughtfully into the distance as she sits with her left index finger resting on her left cheek just below her eye. Her elbow is resting just above the arm of the chair, and her right hand rests in her lap. This is a sketch of Kamilla Swoboda listening to her husband Karl M. Swoboda playing the aria, "Lamento d'Arianna" ("Lasciate mi morire") by Claudio Monteverdi on the piano.
