Description

The tenor, Marcelin-Léger Lafont, strides confidently forward with his head held high in this caricature. His rotund body with enormous buttocks is shown from his left profile. His neck is the same size around as his head and extends from his body to his chin, which juts sharply from his face. His eyes gaze upward. His long hair falls in waves over his ears to his wide collar. A small bicorne rests on his head. He is wearing a jacket, which cannot be buttoned due to his girth, over a vest. He wears a cravat and spats on his shoes. A satchel is over his left shoulder. His left arm is at his side, and his right hand is over his heart. The series title and name of the journal are at the top and a poetic caption at the bottom.
