Description
St. Francis gazing upward in a trance holds a crucifix against his right shoulder and rests his head on the crucifix with rosary beads under his right hand falling on to his right leg. A skull rests against his right hip under his right arm while he is seated on the ground leaning against a tree. A basket and small bowl with a few vegetables lie on the ground at his right side. A stream is flowing at his left, and a wild natural scene with mountains are in the background. An angel flies above the stream playing a violin with clouds in the sky.People as subjects
