Description

Portrait of the English Baroque composer and organist John Blow (1649–1708) produced for The Universal Magazine of Knowledge and Pleasure, initiated by the London publisher and printer John Hinton (fl. 1739–1781) in 1747. On the bottom edge of the image: "Printed for J. Hinton at the Kings Arms in Paternoster Row." The portrait was likely based on a likeness of John Blow by the English engraver Robert White (1745–1703) from 1700.
