Description

From the National Inventory of Continental European Paintings database: In a richly furnished apartment, a lady sits near a table playing a lute. A gentleman, with his broad brimmed hat in his right hand, bows towards her. On the right an attendant pours out wine, and centrally, another lays a dish of fruit on the table. Behind her, an old woman wrings her hands. To the left is a bass viol and behind it another couple converse.
