Description

Upper part in the center; the Virgin surrounded by an angel orchestra and chorus; eight angels (on each side four) are playing instruments; on the Virgin's right two angels playing buisine, one angel playing lute right hand plucking the strings, left hand rest on bar, and another angel playing probably a rebec, the right arm plays instrument with a bow and left hand on the bar; on the Virgin's left two angels playing buisine, one angel playing "Cithara angelica" harp resting against its torso, both hands plucking strings, another angel playing recorder; behind and above the Virgin and the angels orchestra an angel chorus holding music score and singing (plain song notation visible (cantus planus) (music not identifiable); ten angels surrounding the Virgin above them Christ; on the lower part part of the painting (in landscape) Christ surrounded by Apostles adoring the Virgin.
