Description
Portrait statuette of the Russian dancer Anna Pavlova (1885-1931) as The Dragonfly. The drapery is arranged in order to support the figure in mid-air. Anna Pavlova introduced a solo dance entitled "The Dragonfly" on February 2, 1915. The choreography was by herself to the violin music of Fritz Kreisler's "Schön Rosmarin."
