Description

Set of figures from the Shaanxi (or Henan?) region. Female ensembles are an important subject in seventh-century funeral representations. The five players, in this case accompanied by a dancer, are sitting on a square base and holding, from left to right, a small harp, a double drum consisting of two vertically superimposed elements, a drummer with yaogu (or the smaller doutangu), a straight flute, and a pipa.
