Description
A courtesan playing a Japanese lute (biwa), and looking like the Goddess Benten (Benzaiten or 弁才天, 弁財天), a Japanese Buddhist goddess. This copy of the print is from the Meiji period (1868-1912); the original design dates ca. 1828.
