Description

In the middle is Christ wearing a double nimbus enthroned on a rainbow and, in accordance with the Swedish Prayerbook of 1553, with a lily and a sword projecting from behind his right and left temple respectively. There are four angels playing trumpets, two on each side of Christ. Two of them point their trumpets toward the middle of the scene while the other two point them outward.

Notes

The Edsbro painter has made a few changes to the Last Judgement motif. Below Christ, wood has been added along with a town with turrets and towers. On the water, or river, in front of the town, there are three ships. Also, the motif typically contains only two angels while the one at Edsbro contains four.
