Description

Beside a large, stylized vine on one of the spandrels there is an angel playing an instrument resembling a lute. Neither soundhole nor frets can be discerned.

Lute [3394] (Pear-shaped body with seven strings, a bridge, and a tailpiece. The long neck has a pegbox thrown back at an angle and tuning pegs, possibly seven in number. The angel is plucking the strings with his fingers.)
