Hearing (of the tapestry series "The Lady and the Unicorn")
Description
This tapestry is devoted to the sense of hearing, with the "Lady of the Unicorn" playing a portable organ whilst her maid works the bellows. A lion (to the Lady's right) and unicorn (to the Lady's left) frame the scene holding up the pennants. The tapestry belongs to a series of six tapestries depciting the six senses and created in the style of "mille-fleurs". They were woven in Flanders based on drawings executed in Paris.
