Le motet a été composé vers 1460-1470. Ce même motet figure sur au moins deux autres peintures : à la voûte de l'oratoire du château de Montreuil Bellay (France, Indre et Loire) peinte vers 1485-1488 et sur une Assomption Peinte par le maître de la légende de sainte Lucie (Washington, National Gallery of Art, Kress Collection).
